Ø Current valid certification of Certified Nursing Assistant credentials, as required by Illinois Department of Public Health or recommendation of an instructor of in-state approved C.N.A. program.
Ø Completed Competency Test as required by the state of Illinois.
Ø Preferable prior experience as a C.N.A. within a long-term care setting.
Ø Ability and willingness to work harmoniously within a team environment departmentally.
Ø Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with a diverse group of people.
Ø Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, clients/patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Ø Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Ø Aptitude for detail work.
Ø Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Ø Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Ø Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
